I always knew I liked Kiera Knightly

Click here for a cool article about Kiera Knightly. I admire her. I think its just what young (& old) women need to hear.

Guestbook Dilemma

Blog friends, I need your help. I can't decide about a guestbook. I don't want to do a traditional guestbook because I don't know how often I would actually look through people's signatures.

(Traditional Guestbook)

I have a couple of things I like. I am posting pictures below. Here is where I need your help! Which do you like? What are you doing for your wedding or what did you do?

I like the book below. Its by Martha Stewart Crafts. This is similar to what my sister did at her wedding except she had glass hurricanes and guests could drop in a little note. I like the idea of people writing you a note. Its personal and therefore, more meaningful.

Another idea that I have seen lately is purchasing a coffee table book and then guests can sign it. I love this book below. If I went this route, I would purchase one book about Virginia and one about Missouri - to cover both of our home states!

I think this is my favorite idea. Its a tray that guests can sign. Its from "I do engraveables." Although its similar to a traditional guestbook because guests would just leave a signature, I would use it frequently and I would be reminded of our special day and the people who celebrated with us.

Go to the Gap!

I just wanted to let everyone know that if you want to pick up some cool clothes for your man, head to the Gap! Seriously, Fiance and I scored some huge deals there this weekend. He got three polo shirts and they were only $4 each!!! He also stocked up on some preppy shorts, again, $4 each!!! I can't remember what else he got, but I know it was cheap!

The girls section was not as hot. However, I got some cute white pants (on-sale) and a couple button down shirts (also on sale), so I was happy.

PS - I couldn't find pictures of any of the stuff online, so I guess it was in-store only. Head over there!

I got tagged!

I was tagged by Miss Lili NC to list 5 songs I am embarrassed to admit I like. I had fun doing this! Here are the rules:

*Link to the person who tagged you and post the rules on your blog.

*Share 5 songs you are embarrassed to admit to others that you like and tell why.

*Tag 7 random people at the end of post.

Bust a Move – I think I was a freshman in college when I first heard this song – this was shocking to some of my friends. I instantly loved it and it kind of became our “going out” theme song, when I was in college.

Mariah Carey’s Heartbreaker – My friend, bridesmaid, & former roommate, L and I had many a dance party with Mariah Carey’s Greatest Hits. This often included jumping on couches and singing into hairbrushes . . . most likely on Friday afternoons after our last class.

Air Supply – I’m All Out of Love – A few weekends ago, when we were painting, my Mom and I broke out into song when this came on. My Mom had Air Supply’s greatest hits and we used to listen to it all the time . . .

Celebration – Kool & the Gang – My real friends know how much I love this song! It’s my favorite party song. I know its cliché, but it usually gets the party going. It’s funny how many of my friends tell me that they always think of me when they hear this song. I might have requested it one too many times at a sorority function . . .

Dancing in the Moonlight – King Harvest – I always listen to this entire song when I hear it on the radio. I don’t think I will ever get tired of it. I think it’s the perfect cocktail party kind of music. It makes me happy.

I am never very good at knowing who has done what tags - so here are the people I am tagging, but if you have already done it, no worries :)

Funny Movie

I have been trying to relax lately and kind of decompress. I was very excited last night when I flipped to USA (I think) and this was on. I have watched this movie so many times that I can't even count. But I still laugh out loud during so many of the scenes. I think Kate Hudson is so funny in this movie. My favorite scene is when she shows up during the "guys night." Whats yours?

I heart my Fiance

When I went home this weekend, I was delighted to find this little number waiting for me. My sweet Fiance bought it for me and I got to wear it to one of my showers this past Saturday.

Since I am moving in a few weeks, I left all of the gifts at Fiance's house. We aren't using them until after the wedding. We received lots of really nice things. I can't believe how generous people have been.

Thank you!

NEVER under-estimate the kindness of bloggers! I mentioned to Self-Confessed Lamp Tramp (in a comment) that I was having trouble with my wedding program. She was so kind and offered to send me the program from her daughter's Nuptial Mass. Look what arrived . . . a beautiful package.

Thank you dear friend. Thank you for your kindness and words of encouragement.

Sad News

Estelle Getty passed away. She was always my favorite Golden Girl. I loved her character's quick wit. Click here for the article.

Made of Honor

I'm back! We had a great trip. The Royals won - so that always makes the game so much more fun. The brunch shower was lovely and my future mother in law out did herself. I received some really nice gifts. I can't wait to get them set up in my new house!

We saw Made of Honor on saturday night. I loved it! Of course, I always love these kinds of movies and I am a hopeless romantic. How was your weekend? I will be catching up on your blogs over the next few days :)

For my design folder

I saw this picture on a random website and I am afraid I will forget it - so I am posting it here! I love how the trim is in a bold color. It seems everywhere I go there is bold color on the walls and then the trim is white (thats what our house is going to be) but I love this. Sorry, I can't get the picture any larger.

Stamps

My focus is changing. I know this should have happened a while ago but I've had a hard time switching from "collecting inspiration" to selecting details and making decisions. In any event, we are sending out the invites at the end of the month. I have been looking at stamps. I want something pretty and whimsical. I don't really want the Liberty Bell. Don't get me wrong - I'm proud to be an American - but I want something unique for the invitations.

I love this Dragonfly stamp. I just think its so pretty. The only problem is what kind of stamp to put on the response envelope? Yes, sorry, I am that OCD that I actually want it to match!

I also saw this stamp. How adorable would that be for the rehearsal dinner invitations??? I love it - I only wonder how many people would actually notice it? :)

My weekend in numbers

5 – open houses looked at
1 – shower invitation received
2 – number of nights we went out
0 – number of fireworks seen
8 – number of Harry Potter’s watched – at least according to Fiance
15 – wines tasted at the wine festival
3 – times getting caught in the rain
1 – dinner cooked
too hard to count – number of hugs from my sweet Fiance

Get Smart

We saw this on friday. We both really liked it. I had heard mixed reviews, but I love Anne Hathaway and Fiance and I both love Steve Carrell. It was entertaining and fast-moving. If you like both of these actors, I would suggest seeing it.

Anne Hathaway had on some yummy Chanel throughout the whole movie. It was fun to watch for her different outfits. Steve Carrell's character was funny, but a different kind of humor than what he usually does. In conclusion, we were both pleased with the film.

Tomorrow I think we are going to hang around our downtown area and then catch some fireworks. Then Saturday we are headed to a Music & Wine Festival. Have a great weekend everybody!

Secret Life of the American Teenager

Did anyone else watch this last night? After seeing the previews for weeks, I was excited about this show. Now that I have watched it, I have mixed feelings. I am curious to know what you all think? Was I the only one who watched it?
