The Rehearsal Dinner
We will have the actual rehearsal at the church (obviously) and then we are having our rehearsal dinner at a baseball stadium (not this one though). Fiance loves baseball, so we thought it was fitting. Its going to be a very casual event. I think it will be a nice time for everyone to relax and visit with relatives.
I have been trying to come up with ideas to go with our baseball theme. I think it would be very cute to have invitations that are printed like tickets to a game. I also think a fun centerpiece would be a plastic popcorn bucket with crackerjacks, peanuts and other baseball type items.
Since our extended families have never met, I kind of want to have some type of nametag - but I am not sure about this.
Feel free to chime in if you have any ideas or suggestions!

Sounds like fun! It will be so nice to have everyone together for a nice laid back night before your big day.
I LOVE the baseball theme - my dad and brother both play baseball. Let me think some more about it - I'm really intrigued by this idea, and I want to offer some ideas!
I love this idea! It would be fun to have family in t-shirt jerseys with their name on the back and a number on it too. For example,
Grandpa #1 Grandma #2. Or you could skip the #, give out random #s but the name would be fun! If I think of more ideas, I'll let you know.
oooh perfect! ok, i'm not sure how into DIY you are, or how many guests you have, but what about making a baseball "program" introducing all of your guests? you could have them printed at kinkos or an office supply store and it wouldn't be prohibitively expensive. just a thought. :)
thanks for the awesome ideas you guys! the baseball program would be adorable
Hello there. I found you by accident as I was looking for "baseball themed wedding ideas" online, but I couldn't help adding my recent findings. I just saw a very cute inspiration board at Snippet & Ink about a vintage baseball themed wedding. Take a look http://snippetandink.blogspot.com/2008/04/board-181-take-me-out-to-ballgame.html
I also remember seeing a really fabulous wedding in an old issue of Martha Stewart Weddings (perhaps an issue from 2005 when I got married, but I can't find it online anywhere). They used lots of "vintage" looking things like popcorn and peanuts as favors in cute wrapping, and each table was named after a position on the field etc. I even saw the idea that you could have your family play the groom's family in a game. I hope your wedding is fabulous. and Thanks for letting me give you my two cents!
