Food for thought
Here is my thought . . . what if brides starting bartering for “day of” coordinating services? At my sister’s wedding, my mom had an acquaintance come and coordinate the ceremony start. Then my mom did the same for her daughter. It was nice because they weren’t good enough friends to come to the wedding, but they trusted each other for this small task.
This post is not at all meant to offend any wedding coordinator. I link to several wedding coordinator blogs and they are really fabulous. I realize they provide a valuable service to a lot of couples. That being said, I don’t know how everyone else feels, but it shocks me to find out how much some wedding coordinators are charging.
If you all are anything like me, you have devoured every wedding magazine you’ve come across since you became engaged. I have read every wedding blog I could find. I have heard all of the horror stories and all of the “behind the scenes” stuff and what should be in your "emergency" bag. I feel like I am prepared to handle emergency situations, should they arise. So, I thought – some of my fellow bloggers must feel the same way.
What do you all think? Trading with another bride in your area, to be her day of coordinator and then she would do the same for you? I feel like this idea is so much better than asking a friend or a family member to be the coordinator. Because, this would be a person who is detached from the situation and all of your guests can enjoy themselves. The other added bonus is, who better understands than another bride? They know the small details mean something to you.
Obviously the two brides would have to talk about what their expectations would be, but I think it could work. It may mean giving up a Saturday during your wedding planning, but it might be worth it. What do you think?

Love the One Your With - Emily Giffin
This novel was worse than Baby Proof. I was so bored when I was reading it. I would try to read a chapter a night, but sometimes, I couldn’t even get through that. Well I finally finished it last week. I have to admit, the last two chapters were good. However, I was disappointed with the book. Call me old-fashioned, but why can’t she just write about someone actually loving the one they are with? Why is it, in her books, that the main characters always have to venture out of their relationships to decide whether or not they really do - love the one they are with?

Paying to be a bridesmaid?
More Wedding Business
I don't really want to do a whole lot in the garden. However, I have always loved the look of white lights. What do you all think about white lights on the trees? Or do you have any other suggestions (that might be less time consuming :-)?

So they say its your birthday, well its MY birthday too!
This weekend is going to be a celebration of my birth, according to Fiance, and that’s fine by me. I love celebrating my birthday. I don’t know if it’s because my birthday is in the summer and I always felt slighted, but I love to celebrate it.
Last year, was not the best birthday, I was studying for the bar. However, my Daddy may have topped all birthdays last year. He spent a good two minutes trying to get our dog to tell me “happy birthday.” He knew it would make me laugh.
Tonight, Fiance is taking me to dinner at my favorite restaurant and then I will be enjoying my birthday cake. I’m excited – can you tell?
I am including my horoscope from this month's Instyle. I don’t have a lot of faith in horoscopes, but this one was pretty right on. Out of pure curiosity, how many Gemini blog friends do I have?
“You’re witty, curious and up on the latest trends, not to mention a brilliant communicator. On the other hand . . . with so many varied interests, follow through is not always your strong suit. Stellar style, you choose clothes in classic shapes and styles but continually reinvent your look with statement pieces from your vast collection of accessories. Love personality . . . ever independent, you’re slow to settle down – and even when you do, you never give up the hobbies you love. Wise partners know that the way to win your heart is by stimulating your mind.”
I have to admit – that last line is my favorite. That’s one of the things I love about Fiance – our talks.

Weekend Movie Madness
1. I LOVED Dan in Real Life. I had heard mixed reviews. Initially I wanted to see it because I love Steve Carell. I heard he had a more serious role, so I was prepared for a serious movie. It was really good. I think I would consider it a dramedy. If you haven't seen it, I would definitely recommend it.
2. Walk Hard - the movie was funny. It was definitely a parody of Walk the Line. If you aren't expecting much with this movie, you'll probably get a few good laughs.
3. I love Will Ferrell. He is one of my favorite comedians. However, Semi-Pro was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I was most excited to watch this movie and I was the most disappointed with this one. It wasn't really funny and I felt like I was struggling to laugh at something in the movie. So, if you were on the fence, I would say to skip this one.

Warning - if you haven't seen it, you might want to skip the post
I am not going to give too much away, but I'm not gonna lie to ya, I was a little under-whelmed by the movie. It was good, but in my opinion, it wasn't as good as the series. I kind of felt like the end was predictable. I also felt like the characters were almost doing parodies of themselves and it was like Sex in the City on Steroids. Some of the scenes were just a little too cheesy and I didn't feel like the characters were being themselves - does that make sense?
That being said, I left happy and I was glad I saw it. There were some truly hilarious scenes. I don't know, maybe my expectations were too high. Sorry for being Debbie-Downer. Feel free to let me know what you thought in the comments!
New Preppy Line
One of the reasons I love blogging is because I have connected with some great girls who share so many of the same interests as me. Its funny because when I see the Sex and the City quiz on your blogs - "which character are you?" Most of my blog friends are Charlotte - of course! Well I don't know how many of you have heard - but Kristin Davis is doing a new line for Belk. It starts this fall. You can read about it here. I am excited and I am sure all of you other Charlotte fans will be as well.
