Grace Kelly meets Gone With the Wind

Okay, so I am pretty excited because I feel like my wedding plans are really starting to come together. I did a lot of brainstorming this weekend with my mom, my sisters, the caterer, the make-up artist, and the florist. It was really fun!

My style is very classic, elegant, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, etc. However, I am also a southern girl. So my theme has kind of evolved into a classic, elegant affair with a hint of southern charm. The caterer had some awesome ideas about gourmet southern cuisine and I am loving it. (if ya'll have any ideas bring 'em on!)
One of the things I like about my plans so far is they seem different (to me at least) and it really reflects my personality. I have more ideas from this weekend, but I haven't really put them into words yet. They are still just images floating around in my head. I am working on verbalizing them :)

(shrimp and grits - not sure if we will be having this yet, but it was one of the ideas)

The shrimp looks awesome but not the grit. Not like I ever ate the two of them together. Best of luck on your wedding! God Bless! :)

You could do a grits bar or mashed potato bar- served in martini glasses. We had that and this is going to sound odd but we had a cheese fountain. On the side we had crawfish, chips, fruit, veggies, etc. The crawfish nachos as we called it was a HUGE hit! Hope that gives you some other ideas!
Oh and a local restaurant here serves shrimp and grits together, it's a very popular dish.

EC, I wanted to stop by and thank you for popping by my blog, I wrote you a note about where you could find the dresses so feel free to pop in as often as you like.
{{sighs}} I just loved getting married and would do it again and again every year (to my husband of course)if I could. I love your ideas and although I don't eat shrimp, my husband (who is a NY-er) loves shrimp and grits!!! Orders it whenever he gets the chance!!!

I LOVE shrimp and grits! We had a very southern "supper" at my wedding - pork tenderloin, corn casserole, green beans - all the fixins! And I loved it! Don't ever lose your southern heritage!!!

Oh my - I adore shrimp and grits!

Big fan of Charleston SC's she crab soup too... it was always one of the best things about Spring Breaks down there.
