Home Decorating & Ice Cream Sundaes

I don't have much to report on. Fiance and I painted his place (soon to be our place) on Saturday. My sweet mom came and helped us out. Once there were three of us, it moved quickly. The room is kind of a great room and we painted it a butter yellow. Its so pretty. The trim is a bright white and the contrast is amazing. I think our color scheme is going to be blue and green with some yellow. Mom and I found some great fabric for one of our couches in those colors.

We haven't finalized our wedding reception menu yet . . . so I am blogging about the rehearsal dinner. As I have shared before, our theme is a "Night at the Ballpark." We are having traditional ballpark fare and then an ice cream sundae bar for dessert!!! I am excited about this. We'll have lots of different toppings for people to choose from. What is your favorite topping on ice cream? My favorite are those rainbow colored jimmies posted below.

I love your theme too, it sounds so fun and laid back! I'd have to go with reeses peices and whipped cream....did you ever go to Friendly's when you were little and get one of their sundae's...YUM!

my aunt did a baseball theme for my cousin's grad party (he plays) and she did an ice cream sundae bar, and ordered those little plastic helmets to serve as the ice cream bowls (the kind they have at the stadium concession stands). not sure how fancy you do/don't want to be, but people went crazy for the plastic helmets at this party!

Rainbow sprinkles like your picture, pieces of reese's cups for chocolate yogurt and sometimes nuts to give it a crunch.

I love the theme! I wanted a more relaxed rehearsal dinner like it sounds you're having, but fiance wanted more formal.

Oh, and my favorite topping is the bits of oreo cookie! (Unless I'm at DQ, where they can dip it into the chocolate)

I seriously may have to steal your theme...but for basketball.

I've never read a Jane Green book, but I have two that I've checked out from the library. I wanted to read her earlier ones and work my way up to the more recent ones :) Please let me know if there are any I shouldn't read.

Your RD is going to be so fun! I'm not big on toppings for ice cream... but I do love M&M's if I'm feeling a little crazy. On fro-yo I love grapenuts. My local yogurt place has them as a topping and I now get them everytime. Love the crunch!

The ice cream bar is such a good idea.In England we call the rainbow sprinkels hundreds and thousands.I dont know why but thats what my family calls them.

Thanks for your comment. I really do love how the blog world unites people. I just continue to pray for Jessica. That is the best thing I can do for her and I know God hears.

On another note, isn't it fun looking forward to your new place with you man? Your first little home as a married couple? I am so excited. I'll move in at the end of the month and he'll move in after the wedding. It will be nice to have those couple months to feather our nest. :) Nice to "meet" you. Kelly

Keeping the Rehearsal dinner low key and casual was the smartest thing I did! All the guests enjoyed it so much! If we hadnt done Cheeseburger in Paradise, we most definitely would have chosen a baseball theme too! Sounds like fun!!!
